Sydney Tower

Sydney Tower is the spire rising out of the Westfield shopping centre on Pitt Street Mall, in the middle of the city. Its observation deck, run as Sydney Tower Eye, fills the top level of the gold turret: an indoor floor ringed with windows that looks out over the whole city.

Below the deck sit two revolving restaurants and a bar, sold separately. Above it is the SKYWALK attraction, where you walk the open-air platform around the roof in a harness.

It is the highest viewpoint in the city, with the harbour, the Opera House and the Blue Mountains in one panorama, all indoors and in any weather. If you also plan to visit SEA LIFE, the combo costs little more than the tower alone. Compare tickets

How much does a visit to Sydney Tower cost?

The observation deck costs A$40 for adults and A$32 for children aged 2 to 15. SKYWALK, deck included, is A$96, and a meal in the revolving restaurants starts at A$109 for the SkyFeast lunch buffet, without the deck. All ticket prices

How long do you need at Sydney Tower?

Plan 1 to 1.5 hours, including the lift and the photo stop. Leave the deck and you cannot come back in on the same ticket.

When is the best time to go up?

Sunset and the first hour of darkness are the favourites and the busiest. Weekdays from 14:00 to 15:00 outside school holidays are the quietest; weekends and holidays are busy from 11:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 19:00.

Is there food on the observation deck?

Only a small kiosk with snacks and drinks. For a meal with the view, book one of the revolving restaurants below the deck; for something quick, use the Westfield food court on Level 5 before you go up.

Can I bring luggage up Sydney Tower?

No large suitcases are allowed, only small bags. Westfield's concierge on Level 6 stores luggage for A$5.

Is Sydney Tower Eye wheelchair accessible?

Yes, including the deck and its accessible toilets, and prams are fine too. Large motorised wheelchairs may not fit the tower lifts, so check with the admissions desk first.
